In this video I show you how to check if you can use your smartphone with Tracfone’s BYOP Verizon network. Several people have recently asked me how to do this so I thought I’d make a video
- Start by visiting tracfone.com
- From the top menu, choose Phones & BYOP
- Click Bring Your Own Phone
- Scroll down and click Check Compatibility
- click VERIZON COMPATIBLE PHONE
- Enter your zip code
- Enter your smartphone’s IMEI/MEID/ESN
- click Continue
TracFone uses your zip code to determine if they offer service on the Verizon network in your area. Your smartphone’s IMEI/MEID/ESN is a serial number. You can find this number by dialing *#06# on your phone’s keyboard and the number will be displayed on the screen. Its a long number, so make sure you enter it carefully.
Dial.#06# to see the IMEI number on the screen IMEI is a unique number assigned to your phone. This identifier is used while reporting the phone as lost or stolen in order to block the device. Enter IMEI to the field above. GSX check result for an iPhone. In what network your iPhone works? Does it have a network blockade? Is it still under a warranty? GSX check for an iPhone is a service used for obtaining all nformation about your device. If you’re in the market for a second hand iPhone, iPad or Android device, or perhaps in the process of selling your cell phone, you’re going to need check your IMEI number to ensure your IMEI has not been blacklisted.
After clicking Continue you may see one of three different messages:

If you see the message above your phone is compatible and you can continue by clicking Register And Activate.

I saw this message when I entered the IMEI of an AT&T smartphone that I know isn’t compatible with TracFone. Your phone however may be compatible with their AT&T or T-Mobile networks. I did not call the number but my guess is support will help you figure out which network your phone is compatible with. If you need to be on the Verizon network because that is the only network with coverage, you may need to get a different phone.

I want to sign up for Tracfone’s BYOP plan using my Verizon compatible smartphone. When I check the IMEI of my phone on tracfone.com it says
